For my 12th dance, I decided to step into the world of Bachata, dancing to "Love Me Like You Do" from the movie "50 Shades of Grey." With all the excitement and buzz surrounding the movie, I thought it was the perfect time to experiment with a more seductive dance style.
I have to admit, this was a little outside of my comfort zone at first. The sensuality and intimacy of

Bachata felt different from the dances I had done before. However, with each practice session, I found myself becoming more comfortable and confident in the movements. By the time the performance came around, I fully embraced the vibe and let the music guide me.
The dance was recorded in the studio using a green screen to create the illusion of dancing in a luxurious apartment, with a skyscraper view overlooking the city through the windows. We recorded this dance at two different times to capture one part in color and the other in black and white to represent the grey. I wanted to set the scene in a way that matched the mood and essence of the song, and the green screen made that vision possible.

Bachata and I have a bit of a love-hate relationship – I love the dance, but the intricate steps and fancy footwork can be challenging. Sometimes the complexity of the move's trips me up, but I enjoy pushing myself and learning new things along the way. Despite the tricky parts, I had a great time creating this performance and bringing a little piece of the "50 Shades" world to life through dance.
This dance was a reminder that stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to personal growth and new forms of expression. I’m grateful for the experience and excited to continue exploring different dance styles in the future!
