For my second dance performance, I chose the song "Dance Monkey," a track that immediately caught my heart with its infectious, fun vibes. This song feels like pure energy, and I couldn’t resist creating a routine to match its playful rhythm.

A Custom Costume Adventure
This performance was extra special because I custom-designed my costume. Originally, the plan was for my dance partner to wear a monkey costume (don’t ask me why—I can’t even remember now!), but somewhere along the way, I decided we should match instead. The creative process of designing my outfit was such a blast, and it felt amazing to see my vision come to life on the dance floor.
Nerves and Growth
Even though this was my second dance, the nerves were still there—just not as intense as they were during my first performance. It’s funny how nerves seem to be a universal part of the dancer’s journey. From beginners to seasoned pros, every dancer I’ve spoken to admits they feel some degree of nervousness before hitting the floor. For me, it’s all part of the excitement—those butterflies remind me how much I care about the performance.
Why "Dance Monkey"?
I picked this song simply because I love it. "Dance Monkey" radiates fun and joy, and it’s impossible not to move when you hear it. It brought so much energy to the routine and gave me the chance to express myself with a playful and dynamic performance.
This dance wasn’t just about steps and costumes; it was about letting loose, having fun, and sharing that joy with everyone watching. I can’t wait to see where my dance journey takes me next!

There’s something so empowering about nailing the movements you’ve worked hard on. It reminded me that practice pays off and made the whole performance even more enjoyable!
