Reliving Childhood Memories with My Barbie Girl Dance

For my fourth dance, I brought a touch of warm memories to the floor with a routine to Barbie Girl! This high-energy performance was a playful mix of Swing, Cha-Cha, and Hustle, making it as dynamic as it was fun.
Why Barbie Girl? Growing up, I loved playing with Barbies—they were a big part of my childhood.

So, when the chance came to choose a theme, I thought, why not bring those sweet memories to life through dance? It was the perfect way to reconnect with the joy and creativity I felt as a little girl.

The routine itself was a blast, full of lively steps and upbeat moves. And let’s not forget the many bloopers along the way! From missed steps to spontaneous giggles, those little imperfections made the experience even more special and fun.
Dancing to Barbie Girl wasn’t just about performing—it was about celebrating the lighthearted, carefree spirit of my younger self. It reminded me how dance can tell a story and spark happiness.

For my Barbie Girl dance, I went all out to bring the theme to life! I had a big Barbie cardboard standee and even a Barbie car as part of the setup—it was like stepping straight into a dream dollhouse. To make it even more special, I got to dance with not one, but three amazing dance teachers, each bringing their own flair and personality to the routine.

They were my Kens for the night, and they made the performance so much fun! One of my instructors, John, was especially hilarious, he would call himself "AKA Friend Zone Ken." His humor and energy added such a playful vibe to the dance.
The mix of Swing, Cha-Cha, and Hustle, combined with all the Barbie-themed props, made this routine feel like a celebration of childhood joy and creativity. It was a blast from start to finish, and I’ll always look back on this dance with a big smile.
