I remember how nervous I was.

You’d think that after dancing for a few years in the past, that there would be no nerves. Nope! The nerves, racing heart, and sweat were all there. All I could think before stepping onto the dance floor was, "Please don’t forget the steps, and just get through this without falling!" But I’ve got to give major credit to my dance instructor—he definitely guided me through the dance and made me look good out there!

The song I picked for my first dance comeback was "Lady in Red." The reason behind it? When I worked at Fred Astaire, we had a teacher competition, and I wore a red dress then. I wanted my comeback dance to feel like I’ve never stopped dancing, and this dress and song perfectly captured that feeling—like I was continuing my dance journey where I left off.
